The Wabaunsee County Historical Museum in Alma, Kansas is a typical local historical museum. It includes many of the same exhibits seen at historical museums across Kansas: blacksmith shop, schoolroom, farm implements. For this reporter, the most interesting features were the old vehicles & wagons, including a 1928 REO fire truck, and the art of the Swiss immigrant, the late August Ohst.

Downtown Alma has many beautiful 100 year old stone structures, including the building housing the museum. One of the exhibits in the Wabaunsee County Historical Museum, is the tools used by stone mason, A.E. Forinash.

The Wabaunsee County Historical Museum is 3 miles south of I-70 on Missouri Street in Alma, Kansas.
