Candy Cane Lane - Prairie Village, Kansas Candy Cane Lane in Prairie Village, Kansas began in 1958. After many years, participation began waing, but in 2007 it recovered from several years of dwindling displays. Thanks to that 50th anniversary year, every house on Candy Cane Lane was attractively decorated. In 2025 this display of lights is still worth a special visit and has a steady stream of car loads of people enjoying the holiday display. Since 2023, Candy Cane Lane has accepted donations to support OriginArts KC, which is committed to fostering socially engaging artworks in various forms within local communities.. Each house on the short block and culdesac has at least one 4' tall candy cane along the side of the street, plus various levels of other holiday decorations and lighting. Many of the homes have other candy canes, some up to 10' tall. The centerpiece of Candy Cane Lane was the traffic circle at the end with a 50' tall Christmas tree with lighted packages beneath it. Outlook Street is 3 streets west of Nall Avenue, south off of 79th Street.
