Worlds Largest Czech Egg - Wilson, Kansas The World's Largest Czech Egg is a 20 by 15' hand painted fiberglas egg in Wilson, Kansas, which is known as "Czech Capital of Kansas." The surrounding park has several signs with the history & design of the egg, as well as information about the post rock buildings in Wilson and Wilson's Bohemian heritage. The area of Wilson just north of the Czech Egg includes several buildings which you may recognize as locations in the 1973 movie, Paper Moon, which stared Tatum O'Neal and Ryan O'Neal. Adjacent to the park is the remains of the stone Wilson Opera House, which burned in 2009. The building has been stabilized and there are dreams to someday turn it into an open air theatre. A few doors farther away, is the interesting Midland Mercantile & Art Gallery which offer a nice selection of Wilson/Czech Egg souvenirs. In the Czech Republic, eggs (known as kraslice) are hand painted and exchanged at Easter.
