Edgerton Candy Cane Lane - Edgerton, Kansas There was no display when this display was visited December 7, 2015. All photos are from 2014. Although 2014 was the seventh year for Candy Cane Lane in Edgerton, Kansas, we had not heard about it until being contacted by its owner, Kenny Pritchard, that Novmber. These photos were taken on December 2, 2014 before all of the display was up and lighted, though Kenny is always working on it and it may remain a growing work in progress through the season. One of his dreams is a Santa's sleigh & reindeer which will fly around the yard and the poles which will support the wires are already in place. It turns out that Kenny collects inflatables of all types and has displays for many holidays through the year (Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, etc.). There was a completely different display for Thanksgiving, which came down on Black Friday. Kenny says that his Candy Cane Lane has about 125 Christmas inflatables and over 200 other items & 25,000 LED lights. They fill the Pritchards' yard and their neighbor's yard and visitors are invited to walk to the back yards to see the rest of the Christmas display. There is a walk through maze which was also up for Halloween, but it has been changed so that Edgerton young people must learn it again for the new season. A fun side attraction was Fluffy and Givens, two enormous cats who were sleeping beneath heat lamps in the window of the garage. Edgerton is about 4 miles southwest of Gardner in south Johnson County. You can either take US 56 south from Gardner, or take I-35 south to exit 202. From exit 202, take Sunflower Road north about 1 mile and it will turn into Nelson Street in Edgerton.
