Palmer Museum - Jewell, Kansas The Palmer Museum in Jewell, Kansas is an attractive small museum in the same building as the Jewell Public Library. The museum is in the space once occupied by the Jewell County Republican newspaper and is named after the Palmer family who owned the paper from 1870 to 1965. The museum is primarily three walls of displays, one wall of which is devoted to the Palmer family the museum is named for. Another wall is a time line of the community of Jewell and the third has photos of of the town's schools and churches over the years. There are also cases with artifacts from the schools and I was told that those displays rotate periodically. Although those with connections to the community will probably want more time, I believe the general public will need less than a half hour to thoroughly explore the Palmer Museum.
