The Garage Automotive Museum - Salina, Kansas The Garage Automotive Museum in Salina, Kansas opened in February 2022. The museum displays about 60 automobiles in three galleries. The two smaller galleries are devoted to custom cars. The vehicles displayed do not belong to the museum so there is a regular change over of most displays. The museum has many partnerships and special events to bring new people in. There are activities to interest children and adults, including an interactive Hot Wheel display, painting and welding simulators, and scavenger hunt sheets. The welding simulator provides adults and students hands on MIG, TIG, & Stick welding. The simulator allows them to weld on anything from aluminum panels to pipe welds. The simulators are free with admission to the museum. There are also self serve automated beer dispensers. After showing your ID and purchasing a card, you can pour a beer and are welcome to take you drink throughout the museum. The Garage is the home and owner of Royal Driving School. The program will offer students 14-18 years old. 8 hours of classroom training at The Garage and 6 hours of private driving instruction by licensed instructors.
