Stumpy's Smoked Cheese - Topeka, Kansas Stumpy's Smoked Cheese in Topeka, Kansas smokes both local cheeses and others from New York and Wisconsin. They produce other products such as horseradish hot pickles, party mixes and peanut butter dip as well as specialty foods from other producers such as honey, snack foods, spreads, and smoked meats. Some are locally made, but others are from across the country, including Mackinac Island fudge (made in St. Ignace). Quint and Stacy Cook first sold their smoked cheeses at Topeka's Apple Festival in 2016 and continued to make their growing number of smoked cheeses at special events for several years. They expanded with a food truck in 2019 and finally opened their first retail location on Topeka Blvd in 2021. The moved down the street to this larger building in January 2025. The day I visited Stumpy's, there were tiny samples of some of the smoked cheeses next to the display in the cooler, and two of the peanut butter dips. On that weekday morning those were the only tasting offered and I suspect I would have purchased more if I knew how other items taste. I purchased smoked white cheddar cheese, smoked buffalo wing cheese and extreme butterscotch peanut butter dip. This is a nice local business.
