Trego County Historical Society Museum - WaKeeney, Kansas The Trego County Historical Society Museum in WaKeeney, Kansas was dedicated in June 1975. The museum has grown twice - in 1997 when the Pleasant Valley School was moved to the museum grounds and in 2015 when a 7,200 square foot addition doubled the gallery space. The same bequest which paid for the large expansion, permits the museum to have a paid staff and remain open 6 days a week, year around. As of our visit to the museum in July 2017, there is still a lot to do in the addition, but some areas of it were already set up. Several artists are working on a mural which covers the entire end of the new gallery
