Tyme Out Steakhouse - Grandview Plaza, Kansas Tyme Out Steakhouse in Grandview Plaza (suburban Junction City), Kansas is handy to I-70 and has good, reasonably priced food. The restaurant opened in November 1992 and looks more like a bar than a steakhouse, with every available free surface covered with 4,700 Crown Royal bags. The bags aren't just in the dining room but in the large entry way and upstairs where the rest rooms are (there is also a ground floor accessible rest room). There are prominently placed televisions and sports memorabilia on the walls. The only appetizer I have tried so far is the fried corn ribs. The corn on the cob is cut into long triangles, deep fried and Creole seasoned. This was very good. The $15.99 grilled garlic shrimp are surpassingly good. The green beans are above average. The baked potato was soft and really good. It shouldn't be hard to bake a good potato, but many places do not. The $32.99 8 ounce ribeye was cooked medium, as I ordered. I sprang for it to be covered in sautéed mushrooms ($2) and sautéed onions ($1), which would have been well worth that small extra charge, but I learned afterward that they had charged us nothing extra. The fresh cut fries tasted a little under done, but were still good enough that I ate all of them. The Texas toast was also good. That is another thing which should be easy to do, but several recent places have had barely toasted bread. The half pound burgers are also good, but feel pricey. I've had the $17.99 patty melt which is served on Texas toast with Swiss and grilled onions. They don't ask how you want the burger cooked and serve it well done. It was still good. I upgraded to onion rings for $2,99. They were good, but if I had it to do over, I would stick with fries rather than take a burger and side to $20.98. The service has been casual and very friendly.
