Chainsaw Larry - Alta Vista, Kansas Folk art lines the highway fence posts and fills the yard of Frese Farm's Chainsaw Larry, east of Alta Vista, Kansas on Highway K-4. We enjoyed the pieces on the fence posts, but particularly liked stopping to get a closer look at Larry Frese's chain saw folk art and a glimpse in his workshop. There was no sign offering the work for sale (though we believe that it is) or encouraging stopping at the nearby home, so we took our photos and continued on our way. Larry Frese is carving as a hobby during retirement and much of the wood is from dead elms on his property.
