Thomas and Margaret McCurry Graves in Peru Cemetery Thomas Creekmore McCurry was born in Ozark, Missouri on January 19, 1850 and Margaret Belle Wright was born in Dry Fork, Arkansas on August 11, 1869. They were married on March 13, 1885 in Chatauqua County, Kansas. They are the great-great grandparents of President Barack Obama. Margaret died in Peru on November 28, 1935, and Thomas died in Peru on July 19, 1939. He was a farmer. Margaret and Thomas McCurry had seven children, including Leona Belle McCurry, who married Rolla Charles Payne. The Paynes are buried in Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Leona and Rolla had three children, including Madelyn Lee "Toot" Payne who married Stanley Armour Dunham and are buried at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. Madelyn and Stanley had one child, Dr Stanley Ann Dunham, who married Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. The Obamas had one child, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., who became the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009. Madelyn, Stanley and Stanley Ann are all buried in Hawaii.
