Red Barn Acres - Peck, Kansas Red Barn Acres LLC is a third generation working farm in Peck, Kansas and the newest farm to open sunflower and zinnia fields to the public. The sunflowers are new in 2025, in addition to already growing wheat, corn and soybeans. The flower fields opened for the season on August 9 and they anticipate the sunflowers will be looking good through August 24. There are two fields of sunflowers which were planted at different times, but the flowers didn't cooperate and are both in bloom now. In addition to farming, host Melissa Kelly is also a Certified Professional Photographer, though I don't know if she is doing sessions during the sunflower bloom. Appointments can be made to bring your own professional photographer for a photo shoot or she can provide a list of other photographers who are doing sessions here. There are 10 acres of flowers, and you drive a two track through 80 acres of corn to the flowers. It is a narrow path and I was concerned about meeting vehicles coming out, before learning that there is a separate route for exiting. There was a little mud the evening I visited, but it created no problems. If there is too much rain for the route to be good, they will not open. Check their Facebook Page if you are concerned about them closing. They also have farm vehicles which can pull a vehicle out if one does manage to get stuck. Farm fresh eggs are available for sale on the weekend.
