All displays are confirmed for 2023. The page
was last updated on December 22, 2023 and that is probably our final update
this season.
Selection for this
page is subjective and I may have decided to leave off holiday displays
that someone else would have included. Or maybe I haven't see them yet.
Although I carefully researched where to find some of these, I stumbled
across a several of these holiday light displays on the way to photograph

Lawrence Christmas Light Displays
Coneflower
Court Lights Map

The Coneflower Court
Lights was new to the Christmas Tour in 2021. It is anchored by two
displays across the court from each other at 2702 & 2705 Coneflower
Court which are done by the Ammann and Kalb families. White lights link
the yards on both sides and go part way down the court. Near the end of
those lights there is a yard with a small National Lampoon Christmas Vacation
display. In 2023 most displays on the court will
be lighted December 1 until January 1.

Lights
on Andover Street Map

Lights on Andover Street
was first recommended to us in late December 2022, but we were not able
to check it out until 2023. The Jess household has a Lightorama powered
display which broadcasts a music program on 88.7 FM.. The display is largely
made up of set light fixtures, but my favorite part is the large red inflatable
dragon which is tucked into the corner of the house. I would love to see
with more light. The program runs 5-10 PM (11 PM on Friday - Sunday).

Santa's
Workshop Light Program Map

We first learned of the
Santa's
Workshop Light Program at the end of the 2022 Christmas season. The
most interesting part of the Gustin family's display is the two story playhouse
which is Santa's Workshop with the jolly elf in the upstairs window and
a star above. Tune your radio to 89.7 FM to listen to the music which goes
with the flashing lights. Although the address is on Winged Foot Court,
the actual display is in the back yard and you watch it from Inverness
Drive. There is a row of movie related inflatables along the closest side
of the front yard.

Parkside
Christmas Lights Map

Mary Ann and Gary Martin's
Parkside Christmas is the best known animated Christmas light display
in Lawrence and is one of the nicest we have seen anywhere. If you approach
from the north, there may be a long line of vehicles waiting for their
turn to watch the sound and light show. If you approach from the south,
there is usually no line. Tune your radio to 96.9 FM to listen to the music
which is coordinated to the flashing lights. Facebook.

Garcia
Family Christmas Display Map

Although this home on
Vantuyl Drive is the most impressive, there are several nice nearby displays.
Vincent Garcia's display includes recorded Christmas music playing through
a speaker and flashing lights. The holiday display is turned on until about
10:30 on week nights and 11:30 on the weekends. This display remained very
similar for several years, but has had more changes in recent years with
the addition of the large inflated snowman (missing since 2022) and a few
lights across the street.

Santa's
Lights Map J
The Fisher family has
had a Christmas light program on this tour most years since 2011. This
is the 3rd location for their show and 2023 is the fourth year Santa's
Lights have been on Bramble Bend Court. In 2023
it will run Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve. Monday - Thursday 5-10
PM, Friday - Sunday 5-11 PM,
There are thousands
of LED lights synchronized to music on 96.7 FM and the signature Santa
projection in a window.

Eldorado
Drive Avenue Of Trees Map

The Eldorado Avenue
Avenue Of Trees is new to the Christmas display tour in 2021. Many
of the trees on this two block semicircular street have there trunks wrapped
in Christmas lights like the tree in the photo above, particularly those
at the east end of the street. The photo shows a particularly attractive
light display on Laquinta Court, off of the drive.

Westridge
Court Holiday Lights Map

Westridge Court Holiday
Lights is a half block long culdesac that has a half dozen nice Christmas
light displays. The home shown in the photograph above is at 3405, but
there are a couple of others that could have just as easily been selected
to represent this attractive collection. Thank you to Caleb Schletzbaum
for first pointing this display out. Since 2013, there are pairs of 3 foot
candy canes in front of each home on the culdesac.

Ranchero
Drive Christmas Display Map

I was blown away by this
display the first time I saw the Ranchero Drive Christmas Display
in 2008. The Pam and John Humphrey display is over 30 years old and changes
from year to year more than most although it hasn't been up every year
that we have checked. Many of the figures are handmade and they are changed
out with some new ones every year. There are more in storage than on display.
Just south of 13th Street and west of Monterey Way.

Massachusetts
Holiday Trees Map

Every tree on Massachusetts Street (the main street in Lawrence) between
6th Street and 11th Street is covered with holiday lights. There are over
200 lighted trees in downtown Lawrence. Massachusetts is a nice
place to begin your Christmas light tour, perhaps starting with supper
at one of the many great locally owned restaurants.

Wildwood
Dr & Woodridge Dr Map

This neighborhood display
gets larger every year as multiple families work on it.
There have been up to 40 homes
near the intersection of Wildwood
Drive and Woodridge Drive which were combined to run white Christmas
lights in geometric patterns running from house to house and even over
the street (3 times). As you drive or walk, you are surrounded by the Christmas
light display. All of the lights were lost in a fire in 2017, but they
were replaced with 220 reels of 'soft white' LED lights.
The
2023 display is a little smaller.

South
Park Christmas Trees Map

The South Park Christmas Tree is a huge tree that has been decorated
with blue lights on the branches, icicles, flashing stars and hanging strings
of lights which move with the wind. Get out of you ar and walk over to
the tree to see all that is going on. There are also penguins, a snowman
and an igloo made from lights near the base. South Park is just south of
the downtown Massachusetts Street Christmas Trees. Parking is available
on the north side of the park by the Court House.

Easy
Street Christmas Map

The Easy Street Christmas
Program is another of the new displays which we learned about at the
end of the 2022 season (thanks to Kelli Bates for the recommendation).
It consists of lights on the house and set pieces with the highlight being
the versatile Christmas Tree at the right. The tree is featured in parts
of the music program devoted to the University of Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas
City Chiefs. The music broadcasts on 89.7 FM.

This route is about 13.8 miles and takes about 40 minutes to drive,
not including the time
spent enjoying the displays. To add the five homes in Eudora, take
23rd Street (K10) east

Eudora Christmas Light Displays
Musick
Family Display Map A
The Musick Family Christmas
Display is just east of Church Street in Eudora. The adjacent Lindeen
and Musick families' homes have large Christmas displays including a small
sound and light program with the music being played through speakers. This
display fills the large front and back yard and would take many photos
to show. These displays are turned off fairly early in the evening. Some
nights, most of the lights are off at 9:30.

Elm
Street Christmas Map E
Elm Street Christmas
is new to our Eudora Christmas Light Tour for 2023. It is on a corner lot
just a little west of Church Street. We spotted it on our way to check
out the following display. Soft Christmas music is played over a speaker
and the lights flash along to the music. There is a street light on the
pole on the corer and it wash out the lights a little.

Lindeen
Family Display Map B
The Lindeen Family
Christmas Display is one of the largest we have seen. It and the adjacent
Musick displays cover several acres around the two houses. These two displays
and the McKenzie home are all related. They are actually 2 sisters and
a brother. Merritt Musick's family, Marilyn Lindeen's family and Janice
McKenzie's family. Amy of these displays would be worth going out of your
way to see on its own. Some nights most of the lights are off by 9:30.

Stevens
Drive Christmas Display Map F
The Stevens Drive Christmas
Display is new to our Eudora tour for 2023. It is strongly Santa Clause
themed, with a dominate Santa near the street next to a North Pole mail
box with a slot for letters to Santa. We don't know what happens to letters
which are left in the box. there is also Santa's sleigh with raindeer on
the roof.

In the spirit of the Ditto
House which was in Overland Park years ago, this home is between the
two previous displays and the one which follows and points at both of them.
This is the home of Eudora Fire Chief, Ken Keiter. This display was added
to the Eudora Christmas Display Tour in 2019.

Grinch
Christmas Display Map G
The Johnson family started
their Grinch Christmas Display in 2013. It was the idea of Ryan
Johnson, who likes Christmas less than his wife, Kelly, does. The displays
is rearranged as new handmade wooden cutouts are added. 2022 is the sixth
year that this display is on the the Eudora Christmas Light Display Tour.
It will run through Christmas Eve 2023

McKenzie
Family Display Map D
The McKenzie Family
Christmas Display, across from Eudora High School had been mentioned
on this tour in passing as worth seeing on the way to the Lindeen &
Musick Family Displays for many years, but since 2016 the display has been
bigger and it has its own listing. It is a sprawling light display, much
like the other two, not quite as large, but still growing. In our experience,
it often is lighted later in the evening than the other two.
